During the 16th century, along the banks of the Anoia River 40 farmers dedicated themselves to cultivating their rich vineyards. One century later, the nearby village of Sant Sadurni d’Anoia would emerge, and later, D. Felipe de Vilan, of Monistrol, would expand the vineyards, planted so long ago. The Marquis of Monistrol increased the vine crop, and later, dedicated part of the vintage to the preparation of a sparkling wine.
